Participation in initiatives to promote sustainability

UNWTO-United Nations World Tourism Organization

We, as an Affliate Member of UNWTO, endorse the idea and initiative of sustainable tourism promoted by UNWTO and are committed to promoting inclusive and sustainable tourism.

Comittment to the UNWTO Global Code of Ethics for Tourism

On September 25, 2014, JTB Group signed the UNWTO Global Code of Ethics for Tourism for one of the first entity in Japan.
We will comply with the UNWTO Global Code of Ethics for Tourism and value the perspectives of tourists, local communities, businesses, and local residents, and fulfill our social responsibilities as an entity which is facilitating the global sustainability.

Adovactions through the WTTC - World Travel Tourism Council

We, JTB Group, are committed to fulfilling its social responsibility as an entity which is facilitating the global sustainability by participating in the advocacy activities of WTTC, which is comprised of corporate leaders representing the global tourism industry, to create a better local society and global environment through tourism.
Through our WTTC activities, we have participated in, worked on, and signed the initiatives listed below.

Code project

We, the JTB Groop, are participating in the global effort to promote the Travel and Tourism Industry Code of Conduct for the Prevention of Child Prostitution (Code of Conduct).

Japan CSV Business Development Organization

We are participating in the CSV Business Development Organization to create businesses and resolve social issues through the creation of shared value (Creating Shared Values).

External evaluation

Diversity Management Top100 (FY2015)

Selected by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry as a company that maximizes the capabilities of diverse human resources and links diversity management to effectiveness.

Health and Productivity Management-White 500(from FY2019)

Twenty-eight JTB Group companies in Japan have been recognized as "Health and Productivity Management2021(Large Corporations Category) - White 500" by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Japan Health Council.

"KURUMIN" Certified Companies (2020)

The Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan has certified JTB Corp., JTB Publishing, JTB Communication Design, JTB Benefit, and I&J Digital Innovation (formerly JTB Information Systems) as "Childcare Support Companies" in Japan.

"Eruboshi" certification based on the Act on Promotion of Women's Participation and Advancement in the Workplace (2020)

Six JTB Group companies have been certified as "ERUBOSHI" at two or three levels based on the Act on the the Promotion of Women's Participation and Advancement in the Workplace.

Good Career Company Award 2020

JTB received the grand prize of the Good Career Company Award 2020 for its corporate culture reform and human resource development efforts to foster proactive and creative employees through the promotion of diversity and inclusion.

WTTC Safe Travels Stamp

JTB Corp. and its three overseas group companies have met the WTTC (World Travel and Tourism Council) Safe Travels standards for infectious disease control and have received WTTC Safe Travels certification.
