Comments from participants

・ I would like to focus more on the zero-waste lifestyle and even if I can't always go to zero-waste stores, I'd like to make sure I use some techniques that I learned today to generate less plastic waste.

・ I would like to introduce zero waste programs and shops to my community. This program was a good example.

・ I had a very good time. The program was very well organised, inspiring and thoughtful and contained a lot of useful information.

・ I thought earlier that shopping in zero waste shops are inconvenient but after the program I felt like it is not really, it just needs some preparations. And the program helped me to think it through and inspired me to go to these kind of shops.

Since these zero-waste shops are new concept stores and family businesses, they need to build a good, conscious, and aware community around themselves to be able to function. Most participants had the fear that the shopping process will be too difficult and a hassle compared to regular stores, but after the experience all of them agreed that it was incredibly easy and the explanations given by the store staff were clear and simple to follow. It definitelly helped that we could go as a group and encourage each other to explore and try new things.
