Introducing JTB's Focus Areas Looking Towards the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020

Developing new friendships.
Bringing people together all over the world.

The birth of the JTB Group occurred right after the end of the Meiji period as the curtain rose on the turbulent Taisho period.
Travellers from around the world were invited to Japan in the hope of invigorating the country's economy.
It was this hope that opened the way to the inbound business.
JTB acted as a general selling agent of admission tickets to the Olympic Games Tokyo 1964, mobilising around 20,000 employees who sold a total of more than 750,000 tickets.
Watching the direction each period takes, transcending languages and cultures, bringing people together.
On the occasion of the Tokyo 2020 Games, JTB again aspires to serve as a bridge between Japan and the rest of the world.

Starting something new.
Matching people and experiences all over Japan.

As Japan's population continues to decrease, it has become more important than ever to revitalise regional economies from the perspectives of tourism and interaction.
This is one answer that JTB arrived at in its continuing search for new possibilities for tourism.
The Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 is an opportunity for us to have people from all over the world who come to see the Games experience the rich culture and delicious cuisine of Tokyo, of course, as well as other areas throughout Japan.
Regions throughout Japan will join forces in an All-Japan effort to work towards the success of Tokyo 2020.

Generating change.
Bringing the joy of sports to everyone.

Those structures and mechanisms which are friendly to elderly and people with impairment can be expected to be friendly to everyone who requires the assistance of others.
This is our starting point when thinking about travel as well as when focusing on sport.
We want to take advantage of the opportunity presented by the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games to promote the further penetration of universal tourism, which enables everyone to enjoy carefree travel.
JTB supports the success of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games as we work towards realising a universal society in which everyone can live happily.
